What are your configurations?
1) A small partition just enough for linux system and for data, use shared partition + windows partition
2) big partition purely for Linux to store things in linux partition with access of shared partition
3) use the windows installer like wubi?

if you already installed windows prior to linux, then option 3 is most convenient
