Days ago i sent an email to SG customs checkpoint, It's abt bringing a bottle of 700ml sealed whiskey & another 300ml whiskey left over from a 700ml bottle. Their reply was you may combine the amounts of whiskey in both sealed and unsealed bottles as long as both are within the one litre limit. All the while i have to force myself to finish the whole bottle by the end of the trip but now i can purposely left it with or lesser than 300ml. Anyone here tasted all four kind from Yamazaki distiller reserve? Which is the most popular one?

If u happen to be around Kyoto, u may want to visit yamazaki itself to understand more of it whiskey.

Or there is this whiskey shop in nishiki market, it has japanese whiskey tasting. The bottles are selling at very very reasonable price.

After our dinner at Shibuya, we bump into a pub/cafe serving Yamazaki 12/18, with a very clear signage at their door outside saying there are cover charge of 500 Yen per customer on top of the drinks you order. Is that the normal practice in Japan?

Come on how much is tax! You need to finish them in a hurry!
$88 per liter of alcohol is $35.20, cheaper than buying locally

I brought the last 7 bottles of Yamazaki 12 on the shelf. Will bring back 4 bottles unopen, another 3 bottles of around half volume(left over). I finished my 1st bottle of 350ml last nite, opening my 2nd bottle of 350ml tonite. Weather if freaking cold yesterday, temperature reading at 4 degrees with drizzling from morning till 1am.

If you like yamazaki, u can try their single cask whiskey.

Karuizawa whiskey is also good to try. Especially their original bottling whiskey.

nikka and comos offer better value. 竹鶴17年ピュアモルト is cheaper than 12yr old Yamazaki. the 21 yr old just alittle more.
4C not that bad, U get used to it.
