Early / Mid July budget backpacking

Looking towards a budget backpacking trip in SEA region in early/mid july before Uni matriculation. Any suggestion for <$1k trip inclusive of flight, no shopping, just visit and immerse in local experience?

i did my backpacking alone after grad as well. 2.5k-2.8k for 2 months. Bus up north and flight back.

With that budget, its not going to get you far. You can take a bus to Hatyai for 40 dollars and start from south of thailand. Slowly travel up. I am not going to feed you information.

Cause the fun begins when you dont plan and have no idea.
