early termination fee for sim-only plan

Hi Guys, i am not sure what i see is real.

I had a singtel prepaid converted to GOMO (by going to singtel shop in person with documents and convert to sim-only then blah blah ....., we will skip the details here)

then today i receive a bill from singtel.

Sim only start pack - SGD 0.00
Usage charge - SGD 0.00
Early termination fee - SGD xx.xx

i contacted cso as I remember clearly i was told by staff at singtel shop that there is no charge from the process (port from prepaid to sim-only, then port to gomo)

Sim Only Plan has no contract, although, the first month is critical, because when you terminate this on the first month, there will be early termination charges.

The GOMO team might overlooked this details.

The hilarious part is , the charge is calculated from the monthly fee prorate to the remaining days that that the plan supposedly has. for me case i ported 1 day later, so the charge is (monthly fee)x29/30

which means if you port exactly at last day, you wont get charge or maybe just 1/30? or port after first month, you only pay for what you used ?


Now, what is done is done, i hope ppl se this post and not repeat what has happened to me.

Updated: after further questioning, the fee got waived in the end, I was informed that it might take up to 2 months to process. And i am also got confirmation that I can leave the outstanding balance in the acc and will not get late payment charges.

Singtel sim only starter pack is clearly provided as a transition thingy. Hence, it should not be charged at all
