does swapping of the nodes requires reconfiguration of easy mesh?

i dont mind having another eb810v as replacement if it was indeed found faulty. i just wanted it to work. but it appears many had similar issues hence not entirely sure if it was due to faulty 810v

Swapping is a very good suggestion to check if the second EB810v is faulty or not. And it will for sure require reconfiguration of the main router and the mesh node.

Main router --> runs in router mode
Second router --> runs as a mesh node (AP mode if using Ethernet backhaul).

But I will suggest you check the Ethernet connection between the two EB810v first. Remove the second node, use a wired device to connect to the LAN port and check if you get good and stable wired connection or not. 10Gbe wired device will be good, but it is okay to use 2.5Gbe capable wired device. Or if you can even use wired device with just gigabit Ethernet port.

If the Ethernet connection is okay, then put back the second EB810v and check again. My guess is that there may be unstable connection causing the second EB810v to switch between Ethernet Backhaul and Wireless Backhaul.

If it is still causing problem, then try the swapping method.

Test each unit individually without mesh first - that will help rule out a scenario where one of the units has a hardware fault

Yes, this is a good idea.

On the other hand, my guess is that both units are okay and the problem is the wired connection between the two. But let's see.

if i set the operation mode as ap mode in the web, it totally has no internet, only wifi signal.

this is what i did..
Onr -> Main eb810v -> cable connect 10gb port to 2nd eb810v

Main EB810v router cannot be set up as AP mode, must be in router mode.

You can however, set up the seoncd node as AP node and not using EasyMesh.

Sorry for necro but I’m about to buy a eb810v and was researching on it.

Do instability issues still persist in 2026?

I will be using hb710 as a mesh node.

Otherwise any other main router I should use to mesh with hb710 and that works flawlessly?
