UI seems really simple and no frills.

Where did you purchase your unit from?

Also I wonder if anyone really needs 3.4million PPS in a home consumer setup. Pretty sure most home usage wont generate anything like million packets per second. I would reckon that most of us are happy with the NAT routing performance of the typical tplink/xiaomi/asus/linksys router.

From UBNT store, I like it, it’s really fast response to surf internet .
You may not feel the small difference, but you change back to asus ,linksys router ...you will miss the EdgeRouter :s13:

Looks like the router is sold out and also only for North American sales only.

Ah! thanks for the info. I totally understand your point.

Case in point, this editor say don't bother with 240hz as 144hz is fast enough:

http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/blog-if-you-already-have-144hz-monitor-don-t-bother-240hz-one

I own a 240Hz(alienware 25 gysnc) monitor. if I switch down to a slower 144hz setting, I will notice the slowness for sure. 240hz Internet browser scrolling is butter smooth(much less motion blur/ghosting)!

They take SG cards?

Last I've heard they stopped accepting foreign cards on their store. :s12:

I am using the Edgerouter POE myself and I love that router.

Does the Edgerouter 4 runs hot also since it is passive dissipation?

At this price I would use a pc to run pfsense. The edgerouter lite is probably good enough for home use

My ER4 run yesterday till now , slightly warm . Compare with ER3 , ER3 is much warm than ER4. Maybe my ER4 is run <40 hour only:s13:

Actually ERX is already good enough for home use ;)

I used to testrun a I7 2600K PC with 16GB DDR3 system as pfsense router 4years back.

Yes it loads all pictures in a website with near instantaneous speed.

But to be honest, it wasn't worth the power consumption bill for that kind of feel.

Now I only care that my consumer grade wireless router is able run stable, provide good wifi range around my house and don't make my monthly power bill go up by $50. :D

Lol you are better of using that pc for other purposes. Most of the official pfsense appliances come with only an atom processor and they work perfectly well.

ERX cannot do symmetrical 1Gbps, it' basically a switch made to be a router.

I have heard that ERX is good up to 800 or 900Mbps, without QoS or complex routing rules.

For home use, 95% we are using <100Mbps only.
even bt download, a real speed 100Mbps should be good enough ;)

Yup, it can do 800+Mbps in a single direction without the bells and whistles enabled. It's limited by the single 1Gbps link to the CPU, limiting it to a theoretical speed of 500Mb/s in both directions at any given time.

Would this be a tangible improvement over the edgerouter lite for home use? I am looking to migrate away from my pfsense VM. Also not looking to have a standalone pfsense machine for concerns over electricity bill=:p

they accepted SG CC , but delivery US address only.
They dun deliver to cgw vpost. So LLST have to find alternative vendors. I'm not sure how much it sells locally, realised I dun really save much buying locally vs from Amazon/BH etc.

Sometimes not worth the trouble and might as well buy from SLS

How does it compare to USG P3? My USG run uncomfortably hot. However, when I attach a fan to the vent, the temp drops quite well to room temp. But a fan, no matter how silent, is still noisy

I use a pc fan step down from 12v to 5v power from usb and is dead silent even when I put my ear up against it. Only downside is it moves little air
