@Dr.Vijay

Hong Kong up there but the whole place is a sheethole. :poop:

I posted this on the thread and was awarded 6 points.

Warning reason: Posting Inappropriate Comment / Content / Language / Insults

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...n-wealth-respectively.7153536/#post-157179172

The word is apt when using it to describe Hong Kong.
  • High cost of living and housing crisis - Exorbitant rents, cramped living conditions
  • Stressful Work Culture - Long working hours, high pressure, focus on money
  • Political and social tensions - Erosion of freedoms, lack of political stability, limited freedom of expression
  • Social issues and attitudes - Rude and impolite, income inequality
  • Environmental problems - Overcrowding, Pollution
How is this inappropriate or insulting?

Checked on your post. Your comment is blatantly offensive and insulting. I'm sure you would not like it if someone calls Singapore or your home a "sheethole". So stop posting such comments on HWZ Forums, or more disciplinary action will be taken on you.

May this help to clarify and have a good weekend. :)

Please merge with the original thread with the same title.

When someone uses that term to me, it implies that they object to something. But my first instinct is not to feel salty or triggered, but to ask what and why.

It does not bother me if someone calls my home a sxxx-hxxx becasue frankly, it is an accurate description. My HDB block, managed under the PAP, has concrete spalling both inside and out. The “repairs” done in the common areas look rushed and unsightly. The vertical metal trunkings are rusted and infested with pests. Water seeps through my walls whenever it rains, or when the town council flush the rubbish chute, or from neighbors upstairs or next door which HDB cannot even figure out the source. The corridor railings are rusted, the paint on the walls is peeling, and the ceiling wire trunking looks like it could fall any time.

Residents place furniture and other belongings along the corridors and stairwells. Some burn offerings at the staircase, staining the walls and ceiling with soot. Others feed pigeons and stray cats, which attracts more pests. These are just a few examples of what makes where I live, frankly, a sxxxhxxx.

Likewise, I am indifferent to whether Singapore is a sxxxhxxx, I would say it is going to the dogs. Do I need to explain why? :s13:

You are the one missing the point. The term is just a figure of speech, to convey a state that normal words cannot. The original post was about how rich the Hong Kong is. All I was doing was to point out how poorly the people there lived, and sxxxhxxx is a very appropriate word to use.
