It's not the pricing issue. It's the very limited amount of tech info available for the ELECOM cable.

Look at those similar 8K HDMI 2.1 cables posted at amazon and you'll find what features each cable supports. I have given the comparison in my starting post

BTW, I need 8K HDMI 2.1 cables for my 8K TV

I can only comment cable quality of manufacturer, in the past for 4K TV.
I have used many brands before end up with Elecom.
Specs is one thing but the cable quality is also another question.

Bad cable quality wise it will cause issue like no display or green screen.
Which are good quality cable on Amazon have to buy and try.

It'll be too late after you buy and realize it doesn't support one of the needed features. It'll be better for the cable to spell upfront what it supports

It may state or did not certain feature but general you have to look out for the label on the packaging.

UHS_Program_Identification_09282020.jpg

https://www.hdmi.org/blog/detail/122
It may not state certain feature but cable is to transmit the signal and for HDMI cable it have to comply with HDMI standards thus those certified will have the certified label on the packaging.
But if you question is whether this cable will work with your TV and sound system, as shared have
to try and buy.

HDMI functions like ARC may or may not work, this is not cable issue but compatibility between
TV and sound system.
PS I hope do not turn this into argument but since I have brought so many cables in the past.

Elecom HDMI can be trusted, I primary use Elecom cables for other connections as well.

That's why ELECOM packaging is not stating the features. Just take a look at COURTS and ELECOM Japan websites and you can see that

My starting post already show the difference between ELECOM and another brand on amazon

I have like 2 of these new Elecom cables in many lengths as needed to connect my PC to the TV and the TV to the receiver via eARC (and to prepare for when I get a HDMI 2.1 receiver that I can then connect all devices to the receiver to save the many cables running to the TV).

Note that my entire setup is based around HDMI 2.1 RTX 3090 to TV at 4K 120Hz 4:4:4 and in HDR for movies and games that use it. Thus me needing this Elecom 48Gbps cable.

What I can say is this cable lives up to its name. I previously used the Elecom 18Gbps cable meant for HDMI 2.0 to send my HDMI 2.1 video signal of 48Gbps. It does work because the cables are thick and therefore can still send the full 48Gbps over the distance of 5m. However once in a while, I will get a black screen flickering that happens once and never again for that entire day. It happens randomly once on a daily basis.

Having had changed to the Elecom 48Gbps and properly certified by HDMI Forum for Ultra High Speed (or basically, its a term to say the cable can send the full 48Gbps all the time), I no longer experience any hiccups in the video. No more random signal dropout that causes that black screen. So my PC to TV experience is clear as day in that 5m cable length.

Do note, since my PS5 is close to the TV, my old 1m Elecom 18Gbps cable was doing fine to transfer the full 32Gbps that the PS5 currently uses. I get all the formats as seen on the PS5 video settings screen. So I see no need to upgrade to the 3m Elecom 48Gbps cable just yet for when I get a HDMI 2.1 receiver where I will then connect my PS5 to there instead.

The shorter the cable length and as long as the cable is thick enough aka Gauge of the cable, short lengths like 1 and 3 metres aren't really a problem. Thus why you can send the full 48Gbps signal on a cable that was only certified and rated to run at 18Gbps during the HDMI 2.0 era of HDMI cable certifications.

So short story, unless you have a thin and poor quality 18Gbps cable that is the bare minimum to run HDMI 2.0's 18Gbps, then it will definitely fail to send a 48Gbps signal. Else, your 18Gbps with Ethernet cable will be sufficient to send the signal that you need and you might as well save upgrading your cables until the day you need to.
I used my Elecom 18Gbps cables for my RTX 3090 to TV at 4K 120Hz 4:4:4 and in HDR with only that minor black screen flickering happening once a day until Elecom finally released their HDMI certified cable for the full 48Gbps only because I needed it to stop the flickering. Else, I won't bother if the signal wasn't randomly dropping out. Saves money. And no loss of image because again, the signal is digital. Thus, it is either you will get a screen or a black screen when the signal isn't the full proper signal bandwidth like I experienced.

With this knowledge, I leave it up to you if you need to upgrade or whether you still want to buy for future proofing of your setup. In the end, the money you spent is yours. So you can choose whichever route suits you. Enjoy!

PS. Notice how I don't mention if these are HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 2.1 cables. For the cables, they call it by that weird Certified Ultra High Speed and whatnot. Weird and confusing name by the HDMI Forum. But as long as the term is correct, I'll stick to it. Thus, it's easier to call it by the rated speed that these cables are supposed to run at as opposed to their certification naming which not all cables will get certified by HDMI Forum.

Thanks for sharing and another way to identify is through the logo but some products
does not meet the standards.
HDMI cables does have it's own limitation especially length, I also have a Elecom 18GBPS 5M.
ip153689_00.jpg

(I have 1m, 3m and 5m)
Occasionally I will have screen flicker so guess I am not the only one.
I thought it was my PS4 issue so I swap to my 4K blu ray player but still the same thing.
Only if I use a shorter length 3M than signal is stable and did not flicker.

Quality of cable is important, even if it does meet all the standards etc. but some cables
are bad that causes issues like flickering, no display, green screens etc.
I did used other cables before ending up with Elecom.

PS locally Elecom cables are not full range, some cables like Displayport cable
I ship from Japan as it is not sold here.

Quality of cable is one thing. The needed features are another. For HDMI cables, they need to meet minimum features requirement. The remainder feature(s) is up to the manufacturer to implement.

I believe the Japanese ELECOM cables are of good quality and the signal should be good if you don't use above 3m length. More than that you'll need those more expensive optical HDMI Cables

Like I said, the ELECOM box (nor its website) states what features the cable supports.
