Anyone heard of Elliot & Jones?

I received a call and also had a long conversation with the broker from Elliot & Jones. Asked me to purchase a stock at a discount because they had inside information for about 40k then drop to 20k and then to 10k. Sounds like a scam call to me because I do not have much information.

That was one week ago and so I decided to purchase that stock on my own instead of and indeed the stock increase by 4 dollars for a USD 13.50. I made about 6k plus and now the broker called again. He said I missed the opportunity and is offering me to purchase the stock at 6k.

To me there is no gain/loss if I decided to go ahead and open an account with them since I had the 6k made from the info they provided. Obviously, they do not know I made a profit from that info. The application forms seems legit.

What do you all think? Too many investment scam around...

Regards,
Jake

Well, he called me on Mon. So I bought some of the shares on Mon night on IB.

Did some research of the company and bought more on Tue morning. On Wed and Thu, the price jumped to USD17-18 range and there is news that they going for Proposed Public Offering of Common Stock of about 5million shares.

I did not share the stock code information in case ppl got misled... Well it is the internet... :)

True. Perhaps stroke of luck they introduce the stock to me. Well is a profit to me now if I don't open an account with them. ;)

Googled Elliot and Jones. Their website wasn't even working, and domain was recently registered on Namecheap only. No other info on Google as well. Already major red-flags.

More info here:

This thread is not an ad to promote about them right?

Obviously not to promote them. I found the info regarding the ASIC matter as well and even ask them.

Just gave a vague answer on Australia and US not recognising their license etc.

Kept telling me people imitate etc and that is why not much digital footprints about them. Their site is .net instead of .com according to them.

But yeah, warning flags all over. No point to promote them just because of one lucky trade or making millions....

Glad you made some money but by opening this thread you already have doubts about this company or whatever it is. Just trust your instincts since it's your money afterall.

I doubt any of us know any better to be honest.

Never heard of them. Probably a scam.

I received a call and also had a long conversation with the broker from Elliot & Jones. Asked me to purchase a stock at a discount because they had inside information for about 40k then drop to 20k and then to 10k. Sounds like a scam call to me because I do not have much information.

This is absolutely a scam.

That was one week ago and so I decided to purchase that stock on my own instead of and indeed the stock increase by 4 dollars for a USD 13.50. I made about 6k plus and now the broker called again. He said I missed the opportunity and is offering me to purchase the stock at 6k.

You bought a random stock because a cold-call from a boiler room told you to buy it? To be totally blunt, that's dumb luck. Sell it.

To me there is no gain/loss if I decided to go ahead and open an account with them since I had the 6k made from the info they provided.

IT'S A SCAM. At best this is a boiler-room, and they're going to stuff you with some stupid stock that they're pump-and-dumping.

Thank you all for your comments.

The stock itself is reputable and trading since more than a decade ago. I shall wait for the news and see if it is indeed true.

Have to agree with you all after I read up on investing scam.
- Promised of high returns with insider info (Checked)
- Asked me for my particulars and potential risk of forging my identify for credit card (Checked)
- Everything done via phone call. I am not sure if that is how most brokerage handle the trades. I thought calling is the old school way of trading... (Checked)
- Trading insider info is illegal as well in US market... (Checked)
