Engineers pls share your insight on why working overseas is not for you

I had a hard time getting people to work in the semiconductor Industry

good benefits etc and overseas exposure and yet don’t get enough fresh nor qualified experienced engineers/researchers coming forward

And then we have the fresh grads with no family burdens also refuse to get out of SG to venture for a good career ahead

So it’s not really no jobs it’s more like people have many conditions they set for themselves, how to make money or get a good career if not ready for change?

Sometimes overseas exposure is simply just to fill a job, get somebody to do leg work, no prospects one. Paint picture nice but actually it's just a role.

Engineering payscale can be quite wide leh.

so many ppl grad in micro electronics every year, u sure cant find ppl?

Cos the requirement is to stay in TW for at least 10 months in a year that’s why

SOME... when it is ALL then make claims la. And also, working in nVidia, AMD is nothing, I have friends working in Big 4 and crying and dying to get out. Corporation big no use. Package must be big, role must be high, else your engineer quit and go AMD as cleaner also counted.

Additionally, they work overseas is on what package? Expat package? If Expat package, I believe a lot will grab. If based on SG secondment or placement package, I also won't want to take.
