Hi, can any bros here help me out?
I have been trying to find some information which has led me to conclude that there arent many ETFs denominated in SGD, or perhaps i am wrong. Most ETFs are denominated in USD. I do prefer to purchase them in SGD, and am very interested in the commodities and gold markets. can anyone shed some light?

Gold price is quoted in all major financial websites in US$. I guess bulk of gold contracts are also in US$. I am sure most gold investors think of gold prices in U

It therefore makes sense for gold ETF to be in US$. Listing GLD ETF in a non-standard currency will incur unnecessary transaction costs (somebody has to be compensated for changing S$ to US$)

time to re-examine your preferences if they lead to sub-optimal investing behaviour.

Nope, you're not wrong. It seems like the vast majority of SGX-listed ETFs are USD-denominated, including the gold ETFs.

Nothing to be done about it, really. You've just gotta bend over and take it from your broker on the FX fees.
