Hi guys,

I have a budget of about $150 for a keyboard to use for light gaming and mostly used for surfing the net. No need for RGB and flashy functions.

Looking between the Filco Majestouch Ninja Tenkeyless Mechanical Keyboard at $169 with 1 year warranty and the Ducky One 2 Tuxedo Edition / Ducky One2 Horizon keyboards at $116 with no warranty.

Which one would you guys recommend? Which keyboard will feel better in terms of typing?

Also due to Covid19 measures, there's no place I can try out the keyboards right? Thinking of just taking a bold step and get the mx red switch. Currently using the Tecware Phantom Brown switch KB but don't really fancy the sound it gives out.

Any advise is appreciated.

What kind of sound are you referring to?

Is it kinda squishy sound rather than clicky?

Why not try get those sound dampening o-ringsfirst before deciding to hoot new keyboard?

The sound is not the switch. It’s the keycap bottoming out. So going from brown to red not going to solve it.
Getting a diff brand will. Coz of the supporting plate, depending on its material .
Hav a filco brown 104keys. It has a solid “thuck”

May I know why do you recommend 104 keys? Will the 87 keys work the same?

The Filco Majestouch 2 TKL with Cherry MX brown switches are terribly loud for some reason. The Ducky One 2 TKL with the same brown switches are slightly less so. The thing is, if you get the Filco with brown switches, be prepared to be annoyed, and hopefully those around you won't. But the Filco and Ducky are both wonderful keyboards. I would be inclined towards the Ducky as it's more feature-packed and colourful with the RGB.

Just get those thicker o-rings to dampen the sound. 0.4mm should be good enough.
