Hi everyone, as per topic this is going to my first build after using other's discarded pc for the past many years. Budget is around 2300. This is my build. Build will commence soon

Since rgb is all the craze now, I've included rgb fan n led strip. However, I'm being caught in between the corsair LL series fan n this tecware. Since I'm limited to 2300, I'll have to make do with tecware fans.

thermaltake view 21 rgb
ryzen 3 1300x + asus b350 gaming f
g.skill tridentz 3000mhz 2x8gb
samsung 850 evo 500gb m.2
w.d blue 1tb
galax exoc gtx 1070 8gb white
seasonic focus plus 650fx
windows 10 home edition 64 bit
cryorig r1 universal
tecware spectrum led strip x2
tecware orbis fan pack x5

So any input will be appreciated, thanks!

Hopefully, you'll upgrade the CPU once Ryzen refresh launches. The cooler is overkill for a Ryzen 3. missed the opportunity to get the H7 Quad Lumi for more RGB...

It seems imbalanced at the moment. Could have gotten a GTX 1070 Ti if you did not get the RGB stuff... But its really up to you.

The way I look at it, use all your budget to get the best parts you can get... and RGB is just when you've disposable income to spend on... Should not be a compromise of the parts for RGB.

You should get a stronger CPU. If you want to save money got evga 1070 on Prime Now and can get Windows license from carousell / Qoo10

Unlikely, Ryzen refresh gonna be out within a year time, if TS were a typical consumer, he wont wanna upgrade something he bought just less than a year ago. By then, no one will want to buy a 2nd hand 1300X anyway, he be stuck.

Like you say, I agree LED is just extras. Rather he forgo all the LED, change the ram to a simple ram and not get ripped especially with ram prices now, get a more functional case with better airflow and if there is extra budget left, go and change to a 1600 instead. The rest looks fine.

2.3K is enuff to build a powerful PC, just spare the fancy useless stuff.

The new monster hunter world on pc, need for speed payback and some mmorpg game. Ya doesn't need to follow but my style is towards the rgb

Okay got it. I'll try to tone it down on the rgb side of things. Will take note on the cooler. I tend to over-cool things it a little bit, lol. Seems like the new ryzen is around the corner. I'll wait for what ryzen gonna offer first.

I'll tone down the rgb side of things. I actually quite like the rgb-ness now. I'll see how it goes.

Ya, the new ryzen is around the corner. Will see what they are offering.

For case wise, I'm looking at the TT view 71 or 31, followed by Phanteks P400s tg/ Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX Glass.

I'm sticking to g.skills ram. It's simply just couldn't resist. sorry...

You don't have to tone down the LED, if you like it, go for it.

You seem to need a PC soon, let me make the build a bit more balanced.

Total Damage : $2215

Tecware Void already has 4x Tecware Spectram RGB fans with the controller in a tempered glass case. Since you have chosen Thermaltake View 31, it seems you're not interested in any air-flow. The Tecware Void looks good but has no air-flow too. You'll save money on buying the fans.

Btw, the Tecware RGB fans are not compatible with normal motherboard headers. They have weird 6 pins connectors and only works with their Hub. Also, the fan's RGB are not controlled by software thus you'll have to use their built-in settings and change with a remote.

I have built in one before, take a look.

I do care about air-flow that's why i opt for the tt view 31. Was actually looking on tt view 71. Got decent airflow. And saw some benchmark on this case. Seems to be the ideal case for me.

Ya, I'm aware of the fan's hub too, similar to the tt riing fans.
My initial build was tt view 71 + corsair ll 120mm series fans. But I knew lots of people would feedback on spending unneeded $$$ on rgb fans, rather than using the $$$ on a better gpu hence, the view 31.

But nonetheless, thanks for your recommendation! Very dig into your specs build provided

I would prefer amd. Yes, I am indeed in need a new rig): You have no idea how much hell I went thru using other people discarded pc):

TBH, why I'm using ryzen 3 1300x over the 1600 was because amd is going to support it until 2020,which is 2 years from now. By then, I can upgrade to the newer cpu. The gtx 1070 might be overkill for a ryzen 3. I can make do with a gtx 1060.

Ok, TT View 31 has a weird one sided open slot for airflow and closed front panel, it will not have good air-flow compared to a meshed front like Fractal Design Meshify C or Silverstone RL06.

The TT View 31 already has 3 140mm RGB Ring Fans and a Hub. You can just buy another TT Ring fan for 3 fans in the front

Total Damage : $2333

I have changed the Case, added another 140mm Fan for 3 fans in the front, added an LED strip. Also, previously, made a mistake on the 1TB hdd price.

The Qoo10 voucher of -25 will end today so if you decided, it's a good price to get.
