Hi all,
I've been called up to my first ever ICT since long time.
I have noticed all my army equipments are out of dated and would need me to replace most of them.

Can I do the e-sizing from emart twice as 2 of the uniforms are already in field pack?

For the No4 uniforms in field pack, does all of them need ranks and formation badges?

Is the dark green socks / full white socks still allow especially as field pack items?

Is there any normal black short beside the high cut one?

Lastly, where to sew all the required badges since beach road market no longer exists?

I was called recently too.
1. E-sizing only done once. Need to check your eligibility using IC/11B at chevron or mount faber.
2. Unsure. Esizing gives you 3 sets of number 4 with name/singapore/vocation/skills badges sewn, 1 helmet cover, 1 jockey cap, 1 rank, 1 formation badge. Anything not listed need to buy. Up to u but I've no formation and rank in the packs.
3. Unsure. Asked to check with unit.
4. Yes. There are samples at eMart.
5. Esizing sew for you the three sets.

1. Best is to go to the nearest E-mart near your home.. try out... then order.

2. By right all no4 uniforms require vocation badge and name sewn on. your IPPT / Marksman etc depends how strict your unit is.
Rank and formation badge just velcro on / off inter changeable.

3. Refer to packing list / unit should have sent you if you are recalled for recall manning

Beach road still around .. they still sew uniforms..

Btw esizing cannot order online. You need to fill a form with all information on sizes and what badges/vocation/skills etc etc, but u can choose to collect or them deliver to you at a fee.

You can try sizes at mt Faber. There's a make shift fitting space.

Hi Thanks all for answering.
1. For the e-sizing, I heard only 3 set will be provided. Since 2 out of 3 set is as field pack items and the last one is worn, I still need at least 2 more uniforms. Therefore, I not sure if I am able to do the e-sizing 2 times.

2. Noted the badges must be sewn on all uniforms. Hope that I do not need to buy the velcro Rank and formation badge on all uniform.

3. The green socks/white socks I refering to was the old ones. The new green socks are of lighter colour and the new white socks have grey bottom colour. Not sure if the army accept the older green/white socks.

4. Thanks. Will check out at emart as I did not saw it.

5. Noted on the beach road army market still opened as I last saw the news of them closing down in 2015.

E-sizing is only 3 sets of the No.4 uniform, and they will sew all the badges for you.

You can only do it once.

1 set goes into the FBO, so any more you'll have to use your credits (if you have), or cash to purchase.

You rank and formation patch are Velcro, so 1 or 2 are ok, unless you are the type to forget to swap them around when changing uniform, then get a few more.

The green socks are the standard ones. Darker or lighter green, they all fade a little after a few washes.

The white socks for PT - any white socks is ok, typically, but depends on your unit.

The black shorts have a few different types now, some for regular PT use, some for running.

You can ONLY use Emart Credits to buy uniforms, you can't use cash. Don't ask me why...haha

The No. 4 in field pack usually don't have formation badges and rank epaulettes (but you're free to include them, if you want), or at least that seems to be the norm for NSFs (since they're subject to changes (change of unit, promotion)). When outfield, just tear them off when you are changing (since you'll be wearing them, definitely) and affix onto your fresh set.

There's three types of shorts, one for admin, and two for PT (high/low cuts) (the low cut is a recent addition). Replace accordingly. If in doubt, go for the PT low cut (lowly cut like admin shorts with pockets, but with webbing inside for PT use).

eMart does sewing.

Of course, all the above are based on experience. When in doubt, follow your unit and their SOP.

Yes, you can only use credits for purchase of uniforms.

The obvious assumption would be to disallow unauthorised personnel to purchase them (same goes for cross gender items, male/female credits not allowed to buy female/male items).

unit badge and formation badge are needed...

make sure your pixel uniforms fit u... kiwi your boots too...

if HK are usually stay in... LK are usually stay out... if there are activities required start early next day... usually need to stay in... that one u need to ask your chief clerk...

cap or the other beret are now required to worn at all time whether under shelter or not...even outside camp... by left u know what to do...=:p

get haircut above the ear levels... no dying of hairs of other colors... they will standby someone at the gate and also before u book in by scanning your IC... that what they did for my unit... hair too long... queue up to cut one style... paid when done... dye hair... paid more to dye black back...=:p... queue usually long for this...

first day usually the admin work so maybe allow to go emart top up limited supplies or rush back to get them for next day if u want and got vehicles...

wait for your unit to call u then u know if u not yet informed... unless it next wk that u need to go...

dont be late... standby times for jams and if u take buses or taxi or trains... standby times for breakdown... and the usual slow moving of passengers whom refused to go further in
