Being called back for after many many years (ORD mates have ROD MR already).

I don't even know what Unit I'll be going, just know where to report. The SAF 100 only mentioned to report with Army No.4, nothing else, Does it mean I literally only need to go in and report in No.4 and thats it? (No FBO helmet e.t.c)

I'm still holding the previous gen Camo uniform and gears.. boots all cui already, I assume I'll just wear the old camo no.4 and report for duty?

For Ops manning, what is the stuff required when it is needed to report? It is also pretty weird that the Ops manning period is more than 2 weeks.

If that's what is stated, then just go in your No. 4, they'll brief you further if need be to bring your other stuff.

For manning, you'd have to contact them to ask, since you don't even know your unit designation.

contact NS hotline to get your unit to contact you. You are actually expected to wearing the pixelised uniform instead. And if FBO is needed, it will be mentioned in our SAF100 so in your case, just in No.4 will do.

considering that you are still having the old uniform means your boots definitely cannot be worn anymore.

now, hotline and e-mart is something you should be settled asap. Don't forget if you have a special size for uniforms, it may not be readily available so do it as early as possible. Better to even call now and your unit should get back to you by Tues latest.

I was in a similar situation more than 10 years ago. There is some loophole during the transition for forgotten batch. All no.4 and equipment disintegrated already. I just blame on the officer in charge and system in place.

High chance your emart account is disabled with zero credits and there is no fast/easy way to restore/get your clothes and equipment if you only have a week to prepare. The reason is you miss the "transition period" to exchange your old for new gear many years ago.

Maybe possible for the officer in charge to arrange for you to borrow clothes/gear from QM/storeman but the quality kept in storeroom for long time.

I just turn up in civilian formal long sleeves clothes. It maybe better not to turn up in old no.4 uniform cos by "law" all must wear the new uniform. Last time can buy old army uniform at army market/beach road. I am not sure of the new pixel design uniform.

By right they should have sent a letter to you informing you of your unit and vocation before they sent you SAF100 for ICT.

Anyway I don't think it is a good idea to wear old no.4 to in-pro especially when it had been phased out more than a decade. If I am not wrong they will add your emart credits before you went for ICT. Go ns.sg to check.

As for ops manning, they should have sent you a letter on what item to pack, whether you are advanced party, main party and mobilisation centre info etc etc.

By right if you don't have the new uniform you are entitled to 3 sets of uniforms without using your credits. I was in this condition many years ago. I went to e-mart during my 1st ICT and they gave me a letter to go to Chevorns E-mart to get my uniforms without using any credits.

Bro.. Just wear smart casual.
If you turn up in the old uniforms without the boots, also look like cock.
Like many have said, they can make arrangements for you regarding new uniforms.
Call the NS contact centre.

Thank you all, will call NS hotline and find out what's going on. There wasn't any other notification (like what unit e.t.c) other than the notification that I have NS call up.

First deferment was rejected with support from employer, seems they really lack of active personal? (I'm just a 'man'). Funny thing is I think I will need to be retrained almost everything (weapon, vehicle platform e.t.c) as all of these have been phased out...

too bad now with shortage of manpower in NSF or NSmen, its getting harder to get deferment unless you apply exit permit to go overseas and work

I was in this situation few years ago. Call the NS hotline and leave your contact. The formation you are under will call you. You can get new uniform outside with credits. For your old helmet and SBO, you can let them know too, they will help you. No worries about new weapon, you will be re-trained.

I remember my first reservist in-camp. I reported in my Temasek Green uniform when the rest of the SAF wore camos for a few years already. There was no e-mart those days and while you could try to get stuff at Beach Road surplus shops, I could not buy the uniforms that fit me plus I was also a cheapskate wanting the SAF to issue me instead. I kena tekan by the RSM and a young NSF lieutenant (more than 10 years younger than me) at the front gate of the camp. They scream like hell in colourful language and the officer even wanted to charge me as the young punk thought I gave him the middle finger and did not salute him (hehe I actually refused to). Long story short, the young officer got his come uppance later when I went to see him later after I got issued my camos, changed into it and "reported" to him in his office. He probably **** in his pants. You see, I out-ranked him by a lot. I was the new BN co. I was a regular before but broke my bond and went overseas to do my post grad and work for years before returning to SG. I also did not wear my rank epaulettes when I first reported at the gate.

Alternatively you can always go buy the SAF admin shirt and shorts with your sports shoe to report for ICT. Bring along your old camo no4 to show and no one will blame you for it.

Recently one of my NSF batch mates also got called back after almost 12 years after ORD to Selerang camp. Apparently this happens alot. Admin attire sure looks less obvious than the old camo no4.

If not just wear shirt with collar (polo shirt), jeans and covered shoes will do fine.

Admin attire cannot go in a lot of camps unless that camp has a Fitness Conditioning Centre (ie one that conducts IPPT/IPT/RT via online booking).

For most camps, can only either enter with Smart 4 or collared shirt, long pants with covered shoes (aka smart casual).

Think can just go to emart at Chevrons or SAFRA Punggol and get a couple of sets of 'clean uniform' without the name tag and formation badge to tong first.

My 1st ICT that was what I did. Then first day do sizing in the camp emart and order uniform with name tag and badges.

A lot of ppl showed up in civvies or the old uniform. They were asked to purchase a clean set to wear from the emart as well.
