First timer building desktop (Is it that expensive?)

First time builder here,

Just building a full desktop for high fps 1080p gaming.
When to SLS for quotations from a few stores which average just above $5k.

Am i being rip off or did i made something with too much overkill?
Pls advise.

MB: Asus Maximus Hero X (no wifi) + i7 8700k
GPU: Asus gtx-1080 8gb strix OC
Ram: Corsair trident z (2 x 8GB) 3200mhz (no rgb)
SSD: Samsung evo 860 500GB m.2
HDD: WD black 1tb
PSU: RM850X
Case: Corsair Graphite 780t

CPU cooler: Noctua NH-D15
Case fans: 2 X Noctua NF-A14
keyboard: corsair k70 lux
Monitor Acer Predator 27" XB271HU G-sync

With the current increase on the GPU and Rams it will definitely be hard to get a better price PC.

Next it's definitely an OVERKILL for 1080p gaming. But it should last u for like another 7 years. Till then it is really a 1089p with highest FPS.

Anyway my suggestion to u is that u list the games u wanna play or any upcoming titles specs been released, have a budget that u can work on. And not relying on what they quoting.(since no budget been mentioned on your post , therefore they quote u that high. But best u go over to the hwz pricelist to look for its actual pricing on the parts.)

Are you planning to overclock ?
If not, you dont need to go for the K series CPU. SSD, 500gb seems to big if you are only putting in OS. Go for the hyper 212 instead also ?

Lol. But yes and agree to what Chaos Zero had said.. Would last you about 7 years or so.

Definitely don't need 5K for a decent one.

your this build is overkill, can do 4k gaming, not 1080p gaming

1 week ago, i just helped my friend build 1080p high fps gaming PC. You can take this into consideration.

After build and OS installation, i overclocked to 4 Ghz on the Ryzen 5 2600 on stock cooler, no problem. Handles games on high to ultra settings on 1080p easily.

I went to Tradepac in Sim Lim Square, lowest price in everything. Try to get your graphics card from Carousell to save money.
