from being very excited , now i've just let it be.
Firstly G.skill touted that the software will eb released by Feb. Then they release a version that is not suitable for X99. and the software after almost 1 month still in Beta ? something's not right here.
just curious is it programmer problem, or some hardware limitation or what.
It was discussed in their forums.
The reason why x99 was not release at start was because it is the oldest platform that they tried to support.
X99 was the first board that released with new ddr4. And back then ddr4 was not able to do rgb controlling etc. It wasnt designed to do rgb switching. Unlike the newer chipsets it was able to do so.
They had to do it with custom bios for their x99 platform in order to support the rgb controls. Hence once the new software release, we will need to update our own bios to support it.
From the looks of it, ever since they show a video that they managed to make the x99 able to do rgb controlling, it is now up to the board manufacturers to come out with a bios to work with it.
So pretty much we are in a waiting game. And im not surprise that our x99 board eol already they still have yet to produce the software lol.
