Samsung Galaxy Xcover 7:
Everything about the new rugged smartphone in advance

In addition to the Galaxy S24 series, the other models of the Samsung Galaxy A series and the new Samsung Galaxy Xcover 7 are also in the starting blocks. An official Samsung reseller is now providing practically all the details about the new rugged smartphone in advance.

Samsung slims down the new rugged device slightly

The Galaxy Xcover 7 was first seen in official marketing images a few weeks ago. The Czech Samsung reseller Setos and the official partner webshop have now revealed more extensive information about the new rugged smartphone and a whole series of additional images of the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover7 5G will go on sale for the equivalent of just under 370 euros and will therefore be significantly cheaper than its predecessor models. A few days ago a price of 379.90 euros appeared in other European countries, which is within a similar range. The lower price is due, among other things, to slightly reduced equipment compared to the previous models.

According to the technical data listed on Obchod and which seem quite official, Samsung has installed a MediaTek MT6835V/ZA octa-core SoC in the Galaxy XCover 7, which is probably better known under the name Dimensity 6100+. The 5G-capable chip does not come from Samsung itself. It offers two high-end cores with speeds of up to 2.2 gigahertz and six energy-saving cores with a maximum of 2.0 GHz. The RAM is always six gigabytes in size and there is 128 GB of internal flash memory with the likely option of expansion using a MicroSD card.

This has a "notch" at the top edge for the front camera, which unfortunately only offers a meager five megapixel resolution.

There is more resolution on the back, where Samsung has installed a new 50-megapixel sensor. At the same time, however, the previously installed second camera is being deleted, although its usefulness in the commercial environment, which the Xcover 7 with its "Enterprise Edition" suffix is clearly aimed at, was questionable anyway.

The other features are certainly much more important for the business customers targeted by Samsung: the Galaxy In addition, the 4050mAh battery is easily replaceable if necessary. There is also a USB-C port for power supply and a 3.5 mm jack connection for headsets.
