Gaming Rig $4000 Budget

Hi guys this is yet another rig recommendation thread. I browsed through the forum but Im so lost with all the jargons now, especially the mobos. Why are there so many variations nowadays?? I'll appreciate you guys lending a helping hand here.

So I have a budget of $4000. I will not be overclocking. I dont need OS too.

Im deciding between the 2 monitors acer predator xb271hu and dell s2716dg. Will need advice on this.

ill go for 1080 ti now.

Edit: Decided to up my budget. If its doable below $4000 even better. Appreciate the help!

I have a overclocked 1080 ti and it still cannot hit above 100 fps for alot of modern games for xb271hu.


You definitely looking for smth above 1070 if can for this $1000 monitor

acer if you like the design. dell if you prefer peace of mind with dead/bright pixels since their warranty service is better.

Im looking at graphics card 1070. I dont think i need a 1080 with the monitors yea?

$3000 can build a very powerful nuclear reactor liao...

Get 1070 should be enough for now. And I recommend Dell over Acer.

I'm thinking ts should get Acer and a gtx 1080. Gtx 1080 is only entry level for QHD gaming on 144hz. Then again, after which ts budget will be less than 1k for the rig lol

I have the Dell S2716dg. I got it on offer at less than half the price of the xb271hu. With your kind of budget, I definitely recommend the Acer. Dell isn't too bad, but you definitely need to tweak Nvidia settings to really get a great picture. Plus IPS>TN in almost every aspect. TN on paper is supposed to be better for FPS games, but really I don't think most people can tell the difference.

If you're worried about warranty, then Dell has better onsite support for sure. Though Dell's main quality product are their monitors and I've never had issues with any of them
