GAMING RIG ADVICE NEEDED

Hey peeps, I am new here. I am looking to change my PC (C2D). Appreciate all suggestions, guides and stuff. So here it goes!

Motherboard + CPU: ???? + 3570k or 4570
GPU: MSI Twinfroz GTX760SC 2GB DDR5 - Playing FPS mostly
RAM: Kingston HyperX SE 1600Mhz CL9 8gb X 2
PSU: Corsair TX650M 650W Bronze ????
SSD: ??? (Can add on at a later stage)
Network Adapter: ASUS PCE-N53 Dual-Band WirelessN600 PCI-E Adapter($75)
Case: ???
Windows: Windows 8 Home 64bit
Total: <$1.4k (exclude SSD,HDD,Monitor,KB,Mouse)

I'm trying not to go beyond $1300 +-


Motherboard would prefer one with the Killer Lan thingy for gaming.
Asrock? Gigabyte? MSI? Asus?

If you want all those killer lan functions you got to look for Z board already.

And that would probably burst your budget. Not worth it.

Which is better? Since Gen3 & G4 ard same price. I need something to last me another 3-4yrs?

Is it only the G45 series can support Nvidia GPU?

The thing is do you really need the Killer LAN function? If not then you can do without it and you could save up even more with the B85 board. Cause only Killer LAN is found in most Z87 board. And it is used to overclocked and DUAL SLI graphics. If you don't intend to go any of it then just go for the B85. If you are going to buy a Killer LAN function its just not worth the price.

I think you need to recheck the specs again. Why a H81 board with an ivy setup? lol

My wireless Modem is 4rooms away (inclusive bomb shelter), Even if with a N66 Router, with the help of a Viewqwest Senior Engineer help, I'm only able to achieve 30mbps (considerin its a mac book pro).

The only way I can have internet is via homeplug then LAN cable (90mbps).
Thus, I thought Killer LAN would be an advantage.

There is possiblility that I might do overclocking next time, and the Dual SLI apparently only exists in G45 series, all the other killer LAN boards only support Nvidia (Correct me if I'm wrong). So theoretically I'm paying the extra premium for the KL, not for the SLI purpose.

In the even if I really can forgo Killer LAN, Shld I get the 1150 OR the 1155 Mobo?

no man...stay away from homeplugs

i personally had a bad experience with them cos they are usually not rated for 24 hrs operation

i got an aztech one with a passthrough so cannot "turn off" the homeplug since got other stuff connected to it

the connection is very slow and unstable after extended usage (i mean months)

prone to overheating

based on my personal experience la might be mine defective or what so take it with a pinch of salt

Killer lan wont help you in speed boost. Killer lan only helps in reducing latency when playing game. The most is just 15% off the current latency. Which in turn not much.

If you can forgo the killer lan portion then just get the 1150 haswell. If you intend to oc in future, you might need to spend a lot more. You need a cpu with a K behind. And you need a Z board. Furthermore you still need to invest on a good cooler.

Maybe getting a AC-68 during Sitex ba, but meanwhile stil have to stick to my Homeplug, as it's the fastest connection I can use now.

Z87 g45 gaming. This with an overclocked CPU i5-4670k = $507

Hyper 212 is only good for just mild overclocking. If you want real overclocking you need a water cooling unit.

Either that or NH-D14,buey pai wor,can fight H80,H100 all those.
