Let's show our independent candidates some suppork. I'm actually quite (pleasantly) surprised that we have young individual candidates coming out to run this time. Shows that gen z & young millenials not as politically apathetic as we thought they were. Quite impressed by the manifesto/policies shared by the Mountbatten SMC Independent candidate Jeremy Tan in his blog

Manifesto
(Surprised that he came up with some very sound and actually good policy proposals here. Worth a read!)
He sibei satki sia. He told media he's retired at age 34 when asked about his occupation. One of the companies he founded was acquired by Unilever
"Tan said: "I don't think I had the opportunity to start this political journey (in 2020) because of Covid-19 and my mother got Stage 3 cancer, and my brother and father lost their jobs."
"I had to support my family and had no ability to take time off and consider all the things I needed to do."
The turning point came when Paula's Choice, a well-regarded skin care brand, was acquired by Unilever a year later in 2021.
Tan hit pay dirt as he was in the business of being the distributor of its products.
But it was not the first windfall for Tan.

Lo told Mothership that he will be posting videos to his social media accounts outlining some of his policy proposals:
- Increased penalties for drink driving. "I proposed a two week mandatory jail term for anyone caught drink driving - this will hopefully deter drink driving accidents on the road," he explained.
- Increase in eligibility cap for the Ministry of Education's Financial Assistance Scheme.
- Singles to attain public housing without any age requirement and without any restriction on type of housing (2-room flat) just like married couples.
He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Laws from the Singapore Management University in 2022.
