U're still quite young. Assume u're not married? Imho, getting a whole life plan wld be what I wld do. Eg, paying for 15 years n get covered till age 99.

Term probably can consider after having a family as additional protection during ur prime n stop at eg, age 60 or so. It really all depends on ur considerations at different stages of ur life..

Why chiu nvr show premiums and coverage figures for whole life and term?

You are comparing apples and oranges, please find another apple to compare.
These 2 products work differently even though they sound the same.
Insurance companies do have slight differences between each of them eg Critical illness definitions. They do have their own interpretation of each illness. Do probe each agents more and ultimately you do have to settle for something.

I don't think that they can just just pass your policy to a third party without your consent and at least obliging the third party to the same terms and conditions as originally signed.
Tell me about John Hancock's Policies. There is always a clause in the policy document that will cover the backside of the corporation. Such as premium might not be level, returns are guaranteed buy subject to market conditions etc. These will be the loopholes that the latter take into consideration. Else why would they take up your money losing policies? To continue to bleed money to death like the former?

So basically you're referring AIA as an enterprise level kind of company, more stable wherelse AXA, GE as a smaller company?

Generally AIA plans are double the price of plans provided by GE/AXA.. its actually quite surprising..
I know AIA is expensive, but didn't know is that expensive. GE, which I'm from, also belongs to the former type of coy that I'm talking about. The plans are usually more expensive and returns might not promised as high, but will always deliver even under tough market conditions.

How about going through to see which company cuts their bonuses in recent years for their participating plans. But if you're looking at term plans then it shouldn't concern you at all. SAF GTL for death ftw

Haha, then I guess AXA must be going thru a hard time now, I'm currently looking at Aviva Group term life and PA for a 200k & 300k each, total premium only $134.4. These 2 serves as a booster for my coming years as I'll be getting my house next year...

I'm now thinking of getting a whole life to pay for 12years, an additional PA in case if aviva cannot be claim, as I was reading their clause, they are more strict that AIA/GE, and Medishield life.

Anyone tried www.diyinsurance.com.sg?

And for a lady 58 years old, non smoker.. Should I get term life for her? or CI? or just stick to PA and Medishield

Well, quite hard. Hahaha heard they required funds from their parent entity. For your house is it hdb? If so hps should be good enough to cover, unless you have separate loans got furnitures or reno.

For your parents the medishield is shield plan isit? If so should be fine, unless your laobu okay with you buying her to die and earn from it.

Haha thanks I'm actually looking at if TPD, need to have lump sum to pay cover her living, it depends on how she looks at it, she seems fine since I'm paying for it

Required funds from their parent entity? Ure referring to AXA or DIYinsurance?

No furniture or Reno loans, I plan to pay in full for those things..

Here's the issue, after i reviewed my parents current medisave, it can only probably last them a few years den will have to use cash TOP up

For tpd wise, things you should note is how long does that tpd covers. Some company do has last age where they pay out for tpd. Alternatively, can consider old age disability protection, which is the Eldershield by cpf and moh which can cover for life for a monthly benefit.

If subsequently your parents medisave is insufficient, you may use your own medisave to pay for medishield life and the integrated shield plan for them.

Lastly, AXA

Hi all,

Personal bad claim experience with AIA for hospital integrated plan and my scenario applies for female and kids warded as private patient in KKH. BE WARNED!!

KKH will impose a general admin fee of $17.12 ($16 + 1.12 GST) for all patients that are claiming insurance per hospitalisation. But they absorb this charge if you are a subsidised patient. When the hospital e-filed, AIA excluded this item in the claim. I had some back and forth with KKH to ascertain this item they were sending me a bill of $17.12 for and once they confirmed what it was, I reverted to AIA. I had bought a private plan for my younger son and due to bed shortage at KKH, we had to settle for a B1 bed (For kids, this is bad as 1 noisy kid or kid crying in the middle of the night will set off a chain reaction). Final bill came up to be around $3k only for 5 nights stay, if I had webt private, they would have to pay more, so why should I pay this.

AIA then stated that admin charges were not covered under their policy. I explained that this was in bad faith as it was completely incidental to hospital stay. They say their fine print TnC. LLST.

I have emails to back me up, so am not flaming them.

GE covered this charge for my elder son's policy and after reading through AXA's plan, I believe this is covered as well for them. Not sure about rest, as they either increased rates or is NTUC (I had poor exp with their admin previously for a term plan, so never).

The amount is very small and insignificant, but it gave me added admin headache to have to pay $17.12. On top of that, the way our hospitals are run these days, what if next time my kid needs to be warded at KKH, but is placed on a lower priority because of an unpaid bill, all because AIA never pay or like how our polyclinics are run, you pay your previous outstanding then can register?

Lastly, for $17.12, you wanna flip prata already, if touch wood I got problems with bigger amounts, you flip 1 upsized murtabak, how?

I should be switching to another provider (Probably AXA, due to longer pre and post hospitalisation coverage at lower cost). Make $$ still jack up prices and flip prata! Had enough of AIA!

I believe a lot if people have given their two cents already.

For parents, minimal should get B1 class ward juat for pre/post hospitalisation if cost is a factor.

Premiums is 1. But check terms and conditions, pros and cons of each. Include waiting period, CI definition (standard late stage for all), and tvm + escalating premiums vs lvl and limited pay premiums. If you guys are expert at insurance, please give proper advice. I see some excluding the comprehensive comparisom, and talk like an expert.

If you guys did compare, you would know why i flagged out certain things here.
