My friend maxgrowth just matured last month. Based on his calculation, his interest compounded is 1.35% per year after 10 years

avoid such endowment plans with guaranteed + non-guaranteed component.... they suck.

any major event and they can downgrade the matured value as and how they like. and even when market recovers, they will say they "maintain the rate" to exercise prudence and buffer against bad years.

avoid. avoid. avoid. put into CPF 2.5% also better.

This is absolutely piss bad returns, but the bank and agent that sold it to you thanks you for feeding them 😂
Me last time gong gong (my fren song song lor) buy a few such 25y endowment plans but “heng” mine around 3% compounded returns upon maturity.

Js beat OA 2.5% + some TPD/death coverage lor :s13:

My own GE maxgrowth plan just matured this month. My payout was worse than my friend. 1.30% interest per year
Alot of victims from GE one time massive cut. Some never recover after.
You bought from agent or OCBC?

Yeah at 5k per year x 6years then another 6 years - ~1.55% irr (for 12 years) OMG

Think OCBC got sabotage by their own sister company GE. Those that buy, who will trust OCBC liao.

Post covid very high interest rate, GE probably didn't give back upside or was not well positioned to rotate to capture the higher yields.

Costly to me is lose monies. You did not lose capital just earn lesser. Imagine COVID all investment drop real hard capital also lose.
