Americans don’t have an attitude to save for rainy days. They only like to spend every drop of what they have. Even those earning big bucks, once they lose their jobs, they go into bankruptcy mode already

"I don't know what I'm going to do,” Ms Meyer, 39, told Reuters in a phone interview. To make it through 2020, she said she has had to lean on friends and charities to help put food on the table, pay her rent, cover the family dog's medical expenses, and buy Christmas presents for her kids.

I wonder if her priorities are correct... :look:

In edmw fashion, need to ask the impt question: who did she vote for? =:p
Vote in a clown, who suffers?

That attitude is only a recipe for financial disaster. It also starts at a young age, where teenagers are given easy access to unsecured loans and credit by banks and financial institutions.

A vast majority of students graduating college, have not only college debt, but financial debt as well. The YOLO lifestyle doesn't help either. A mindset change is needed to stop profligate spending and inculcate prudent financial habits. The Wuhan pandemic appears to have precipitated this rethink.

The college loan I recall is calculated at 6 over percentage and cannot be discharged thru bankruptcy.

American culture is fueled by media and corporations
Jin Toxic and they just want u to spend and spend and take loans to live the American dream

U have shows that tell u to buy stocks etc
Ads that tell u to spend and take loans to buy what u like etc
U rarely will find any ads or education to tell u to save and plan for the future financially

It’s a consumer mindset and nation, instant gratification first
