Does it snow in Kansai area ( Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Hiroshima) in mid Dec?
It isn't gonna be the same each year but last year snow came abit early and it did snow when I was there in mid-3rd week of dec in Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima/Miyajima. But it's not like it will snow for the entire day. It is on and off, and light snow.

Thanks. While the likelihood of snow is low, can I assume there’s low likelihood of rain too?

am thinking of saving some luggage space by not bringing umbrellas

Just bring an old umbrella or disposable rain coat, throwaway at airport or hotel on last day.

I did that to all my clothings, this time planning to throwaway my Uniqlo sweater that I bought more than 10yrs ago

Should be nothing else. But at airport, will need to do another 1 or 2 questionnaire. 1 with face scanning for immigration, another for goods declaration.

  1. Make sure u have all QR codes ready be it hardcopy or softcopy.
  2. Ensure ur SIM is working before leaving the airport.
  3. Check the weather condition 2 days in advance so u know what to wear.
  4. Install VoiceTra in ur phone just in case. Google Translate isn't the most accurate tool.
  5. Just my personal suggestion: don't bring too much cloths. Just get it at local Uniqlo if u wish to top up your winter wears. It's much cheaper and more choices.
  6. Make sure u are wearing a pair of comfortable walking shoes.

Hi anyone have been to rokko snow park and can advise if the travel from Osaka Namba is doable for first timers? I am going there in mid Dec. Thanks!
I am looking at this as well, looks like at least need 1hr 40mins to 2 hrs 30mins by public transport.
if drive direct or take tour packqge, only 60mins.
So which option did you take?

try to get at least water resistant or waterproof shoes. Cold weather and wet feet aren't a good combo

I took the public transport route via Google maps and it worked well. There's also a few Singaporean families along the way. It's a great ski resort for beginners and families that's nearby Osaka.
