Going UK next year (Manchester)

Am thinking of getting a card for spending in case no bring enuff cash, is it better to just use cash or is youtrip, Revoult or any of our local credit card a better choice?

Only go UK I think 3 day 1 time, but I frequent go Malaysia n Thailand

Anyone who has been to Manchester can advice? Which card to use is least expensive? How much cash shall I bring for a 4 day 3 night trip? And what data shall I use? I'm planning to sign up tpg as backup in case I can't find in UK when I touch down

I think local credit cards have forex fee so might not be worth it.
As u mentioned, some people here recommend using those youtrip, revoult etc but i havent used those before.

As for cash, depends what u buy/eat etc
I usually just use credit card for everything.
I have some cash only for emergencies.

Phone data...local sg telcos have decent short term overseas plans so u dont have ot switch sim cards.
More ex than getting a uk sim card but prob more convenient.

YouTrip should be fine… I used a local debit card for pretty much everything when I was studying in Manchester some 20+yrs ago… Though some stores might have min spending in order to use cards for payment… so do prepare some cash for small payments…

If u intend to catch some matches at Old Trafford… need to prepare cash for it as well… the “yellow cow tickets” sellers will ask for at least 100pounds per tickets… but usually can haggle down to at least half… and that’s for single seat… want to buy 2 seats together will need to pay more per tickets as they purposely separate them to fetch higher price…

For data… need to check if Manchester is in the list of destinations for the free 1GB data roaming… else it is always good to have a wifi router or local sim/esim for internet… Internet cafes used to be quite widespread in Manchester but not sure about now…
