Hi Guys,

I wanna buy a gold necklace for my mum.
Online gold price is $78, but one jewellery shop in the mall told me $104. Even i add GST also dont have $104. Any idea why?

And is it cheaper to buy from neighbourhood gold shop then mall one?

$104/g should be 999 gold jewellery price, $100-$101/g is 916 gold.

Still need to add worksmanship and GST (some shops absorb).

I would avoid buying from Little India shops. Try Chinatown.

Gold has no GST, but jewellery has a workmanship cost of usually 25-30% more.
