Google Home Mini bricked 4 white dots lights

During the month of Dec 2023, Google had pushed a firmware update for Google Home Mini (1st gen) resulting in bricking the devices with 4 white dots or white lights. Engaging with Google support, mentioned out of warranty and they cannot do anything. for those folk in US, they are doing a replacement with google nest.

Anyone else in Singapore have this issue too? What can we do next?

I got in touch with Google support, they ask me to return my faulty Home Mini for a replacement.

After I return the set including the Cable, they offered me only a USD25 Store credit as replacement of the bricked Home Mini instead of replacing it 1-to-1....

is this a new method of forcing pple to upgrade when they don't want to?

how did you manage to return it ?
25USD = S$33.5 where the nest audio is S$139.
by using google home support chat function from google support under the google nest home

after going through the chat and following their instruction like a clown, "try resetting", write down the case number on a piece of paper and then video you unplugging and replugging the cable to show the 2 dots follow by 4 solid white light on the google" upload via google drive. then they reply via email saying they manage to get my on the standard replacement for my bricked Google home mini and send me an email with the RMA to arrange for Riverwood to come pick up the device.

after going through the process and chasing for the replacement, they offer me USD 25 store credit instead of giving me the 1-to-1 exchange.... with that store credit amount, I can't even get the Nest Mini without topping up.... I have not accepted the USD 25 credit yet and are constantly fighting them for the replacement...

maybe you can try going through the process and demand them for a one-to-one replacement before sending in the device.
