I did a ski & others trip in Jan this year, write-up / pics / etc on telegram. Just note that unless your kid is super talent, he will not be able to pick up skiing in 1 day*, might as well don't ski at all and just play snow (roll around, build snowman, do sledding).Looking for ideas for around a week to 9 days of Hokkaido with a almost 4 year old kid.
Any possibility to squeeze in a day trip for ski? I can self-drive if its easier to move around. Thinking of end December.
Can see my post above for my January winter itinerary. If you're going to stick to major areas that are connected by the expressway, driving is usually fine even in winter, BUT there is always the risk of kena snowstorm then the danger goes up a lot. Personally especially with younger kids I wouldn't not drive in the more developed* parts of hokkaido, the trains are infrequent and long unlike main island. iThanks for the advise. Will take note of what you say as well.
Think for me, the most important is to find out more about their public transport, about their bus and train service.
You are ok with the dual pricing and higher tax for tourist? What do you think?First timer to this place but wonder Nov is good to visit and no plan for whole trip with snow. Any recommendation dates and hotel near station for transportation need.
Everywhere in Japan also same. You are ok with the dual pricing and higher tax for tourist? What do you think?

Will need to do homework on their bus and train too.
