Same situation. Cant get over the fact of 970 3.5gb/0.5gb issue. 980 is beyond budget.

Polaris/Pascal is at least 3 months away.

If still working, then wait. If dead then upgrade i guess. If want to die want to die, affecting my games then ill buy now. So far mine still okay, no symptoms despite being 4 years old.

Wad resolution u using?

If 1080p, stick to GTX 970.

If 1440p and above, then only upgrade to GTX 980 Ti.

Nvidia Pascal will be better in performance than current Maxwell, but it will be more costly (new technology) and prices will take a while to stabilise.

Then get the cheapest GTX 980 Ti u can get. Either reference card or Palit Jetstream.

GTX 670 can support 4k gaming, but must tune down settings a lot. GTX 670 can support 1440p gaming, but not as powerful as its performance at 1080p. GTX 970 is about 30% better than GTX 670. So if u really wanna make the best value of youe money and u r confirm u wanna upgrade to 1440p, then get the GTX 980 Ti. Else just get the GTX 970.

Former Gigabyte GTX 670 user here. :)
