GPU not running at max clock speed

I ran some benchmark and noticed that my gpu is only running at 970mhz max.
Even after setting the texture filtering to high quality in catalyst control centre, nothing changes. it is supposed to be running at 1070mhz as stated from the default setting in afterburner. clocking 1070 to a higher number does not help in running the gpu to a higher level.

Does anyone know what is wrong over here?

use catalyst control centre under AMD overdrive try and set it to 1070mhz?

tried. doesnt work as well.
another thing now is, i notice my clock spd and memory clock jumping up and down after i close off BF4. i also realized that whenever i change graphic setting in BF4, be it more or less demanding, my fps will drop below 5.

Freaking out at home now. any help from anybody please?

Uninstall your drivers n asus OC software (dunnoe wads the name, similar to afterburner) and reinstall them.

You should also try re-seating the card and tightening the power cables from the card to your PSU.

you mean your clock speed and memory jump up and down? do u see 100% gpu usage even on desktop idle?

Do take note. On idle you do not expect that the GPU to go till 100% loading. It will stay at a very low clock speed. Possible to be 300mhz or below.

On load then you should see something like 100% GPU usage and higher base clock.
