Hi all,

first post here.

First time building a pc, did some research and saw alot of your recommended builds.

Qns is, when playing something like BF4, will an i3 or lower processor bottleneck the performance of a R9 280X?

Alternatively, will an R9 280x bottleneck the performance of an i7?

How to see which bottlenecks which?

Thanks all!

If you intend to game a lot or play upcoming games, it is better for you to have an i5 at least to game.

It will not bottleneck much on your gpu due to the i3. No major decrease in performance.

Simple way to check in CPU is bottle neck is to alt-tab then press ctrl-shift-esc to open task manager then click on processes. See if your CPU is running at full load

Ah tas method is to use another monitor to display task manager

If budget allows it better to get a i5 since next gen games use multi cores more.

If you are on budget. The least you can go for is a asrock b75m dgs + i5-3350p at $271
