Hi Guys,

I have a desktop about 3-4 years old, and recently my computer wasnt able to boot. Took out the GPU and managed to boot using onboard VGA graphics. GPU should be fried.

Was using Powercolor R9 270X PCS+ and am now looking for a new one.

Any recommendations?

Mainly for surfing web, streaming videos and playing games like Overwatch or Dota2.

Thanks in advance!

Get the GTX 1060 is good enough. If u want better, go GTX 1070 but prepare for high cost. Currently, the price for GTX 1060 has risen so high, so do wait out otherwise u can hunt some other cards maybe GTX 970?

Wah really so cheap?
I'm using it this card. So far no complaint. Temperature and fan noise level all within acceptable range.
But if u r serious gamer, i suggest u wait for amd vega...with amd u will never need to spend a lot money on a gaming monitor with bloodly g-sync.

Hmmm, was thinking of switching to green, since I've always been on red. Does a g sync or free sync monitor really matters? Anyway, 705 is on Newegg, so after GST and shipping comes to be about 800. Is it still worth? Actually after much research, 1070 is the way to go but prices are still unstable. Need opinion on what's the best price for 1070 to settle for

Mainstream usage like yours, a gtx 1050 ti is enough. Any brand or model of your choice. Unless you wanna try new high end games and change to higher resolution monitor, then consider gtx 1070.

For 1070, $500-550 for budget card like Zotac or Palit with the proper discount like those $100 coupons from Qoo10.

Sent from PM me if you wanna build a DIY PC or wanna learn how to make one yourself :D using GAGT

well, we do not know if it has local warranty. if no local warranty, i rather pay $100ish more at lazada's gtx 1080.

actually i did called the CS in the end, they mention that if local no distro, can send back to them and they will settle it. since they are in singapore, i suppose we will send back to their place in singapore instead of all the way back to US.
