Hi there.I just need a confirmation of opinion of the more experience folks.I have 2 280x and running on a 750watt bronze power supply. Is my power supply insufficient for these 2 cards at max load?

Will be just nice only. Considering the fact that the psu fan will spin faster trying to cool the psu also.

Google for the reviews of 280X xfire with power consumption tests.

If you want to really play safe, buy one of those digital Wattmeters and run stress tests on your system and see how much power it is drawing.

Adding on... if your system is demanding more power than your psu can supply, you should be more worried about crashes/hangs/psu failure than gpu throttling. :D

no crashes, hangs or psu failure so far.I am running them on max for mining and one card is always throttling so power insufficiency is all i can think off. Thanks again

I have only heard of throttling due to temperature and to meet the manufacturer's power target (ie. TDP of the gpu).

There is no feedback mechanism between gpu-psu for the gpu to throttle according according to the psu's needs.

in that case, maybe i need to adjust some of the parameters in the miner itself to prevent the throttling.I am running both cards on water so thats why it was puzzling me.

Thanks for saving me at least a $100 from buying a bigger power supply hehe
