Hi there guys,

My computer has been running fine and playing games with no lag.

However, after changing my GPU, i seem to experience quite a lot of stutter and graphics lag (even in chrome and in games).

Does anyone know the solution?

My computer specs.

MotherBoard : Gigabyte Z77-D3H
Processor : I5-3570
Graphics Card : SAPPHIRE R9 290
Memory 1: Corsair Vengeance 1600.9 2 x 4 GB
Storage 1: Seagate SATA3 7200rpm 1TB
Storage 3: Toshiba MG03ACAY 7200rpm 2TB
Optical Drive : Samsung 22x Sata
Power Supply : Seasonic S12ii Non Modular 620w

I change my Graphics card from Elite Group Geforce GTX560 to SAPPHIRE R9 290.

Any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks in advance :)

Tried it. I know because I actually was using a old GPU (GTX560) but it was doing very well. I don't play high end games. Mostly LoL and Fifa14. So when I experience a huge dip in FPS, it seems odd.

did u do an uninstall of all nvidia drivers before u plug in ur radeon card?

certain drivers of nvidia may clash/conflict when u installed radeon gfx.

and when u change the card, did u install the latest drivers/cd that comes together with the card?

I might have made a mistake and plug in my radeon card before uninstalling my nvidia drivers.

After installing the radeon driver, I then realized it and uninstalled the nvidia drivers.

Any solution to that?

And yes, i installed the latest drivers/cd that came with the card :)

Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 12.9.4.0

Use this to install all AMD and nvidia drivers. Den reinstall AMD drivers.

I tried using this to uninstall all AMD and nvidia drivers. Not sure if it's still there.

I then tried to reinstall AMD drivers. The graphics lag is still there. :(

So i tried using fraps to test out my FPS and suprisingly, it stayed 60FPS throughout an entire game even though there was stuttering.

No idea whats going on though.

when installing catalyst, try only installing graphics driver & catalyst control centre (via custom install) to test. the rest untick if can untick.
