How long is the travel time between Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

what modes of transport do you all suggest? like is there domestic flight or maybe can take train or something else?

Take the hexie hao train. From sz luohu to guangzhou east station takes 1hr. Price abt 100rmb for first class seat. More comfy.

also, i tried to do a little research and it seems there are many different types of trains and that depending on what i take, duration is between 36-90min. are they taken from different stations?

also, are the stations in the city far from each other? for example, guangzhou, guangzhou south, guangzhou east?

HeXiaoHao is the high speed train. You are right. There are different types of trains and different stations for both cities. The types of trains are indicated by letters before their numbers. D,G and C trains are all Harmony trains, so they are faster than the K or other trains. Between the Harmony trains, they also operate between different stations. In Guangzhou, the old Guangzhou station only serves the K trains. It has the most central location, however, though Guangzhou East is also fairly near. Guangzhou South is fairly far away from most places. Shenzhen East and Shenzhen are the more accessible stations from central Shenzhen.
