Singapore is a multi racial country and we should be neutral

China is a nearer neighbour

Between US and China, if given a choice and depending where circumstances permit, I will like to think that it is better to have China as a closer friend than the US

recent history of the US has been America first!

Just for trolling... :s13: China is nearer, good for striking! :s13:
Anyway, common values is more important than common proximity.

STRATEGY 23: Maneuvere Stratagem

Befriend those Faraway, Strike those Nearby

If you are locked in stalemate, you can break free by striking those in close proximity. A friendly distant state with common interest can lend a helping hand.

Invade nearby states cost less than those from afar. You can increase your sphere of influence, expend less effort, and obtain results sooner. It is also easier to consolidate new territorial gains which are nearby.
