HDB Resale Flat TIME-LINE Discussion

Many buyer / sellers , whether DIY or with agents, are always confused on the timeline of a resale flat after signing OTP .

A short summary is about 2 months after both side submit their documents onto HDB resale portal.

This duration can be shorter or longer, depending on HDB backlog and available schedules.

If both parties submitted the paperwork, would HDB inform both sides on the completion date or it is automatically assumed to be exactly 2 mths from submission date? Any changes to it, longer or shorter will be informed by HDB to both parties?

IIRC within a week or so, HDB will notify you of the date (not time) of the completion date (as per my sale 3mths back). Then nearer to the date, they will inform you of the timing of the appoinment.


Submitted my application ytd and the seller side submitted today. So hopefully i get a date for end oct... then i can get keys frm the lawyer by 1st week nov.

forgotten but all very fast de
my agent did the arrangement
both sides logged on to HDB web completed it within the first day they notified us
then HDB took a long time to send an officer down for inspection
then HDB took an even longer time to process for approval and arrange to meet up
so yar whole process start to end took 3 months,I don't think anyone can get it done within 6 weeks as fastest time claimed by HDB

Our agent handled HDB staff inspection
Our bedroom balcony glass panel shield were taken down for the inspection first then let the new owner install them back

U mean the hdb officer come for inspection? Yes its a must.. to check for any unapproved alteration to the house.. if there is, the seller need to reinstate before completion

i sold my BTO and bought a resale early this year. these are my timeline as a buyer and seller.

as a buyer:
Submitted HLE on 18 Feb, eligibility letter received on 2 Mar
OTP signed and submitted for valuation on 8 Mar 2020
Valuation out on 16 Mar, no COV
exercise OTP and submitted purchase application on 18 Mar
Completion/key handover at HDB on 15 May

as a seller:
OTP signed with buyers on 22 Feb
buyers exercise the OTP and submitted for sale application on 13 Mar
HDB inspection of my flat on 26 Mar
Completion/key handover at HDB on 15 May

i was able to contra on the same day on 15 May, which means that i can sign 2 papers on the same completion day; as a seller and as a buyer so that you do not need to visit HDB twice on different dates.

I signed my buyer otp on 29 july and sold my resale one week earlier. Completion on both unit on 15 oct 2020

u mean u 'pulled' additional concealed wirings and added more sockets? usually should be ok, but im not sure if you used approved HDB contractor to do it anot, cos if HDB approved contractors, they will know wat is approved and wat is not approved.. later on when the HDB person come and inspect then u will find out lor..
