Hi,
My office have one of the computer displaying
Reboot and Select proper boot device.
I think HDD kaput. Not sure if its logical or mechanical failure.
How ah? Am i able to retrive data? If so how? Go SLS settle?
Hi there,
Are you able to see this drive in the BIOS or able to plug this drive to another system and see if it can be seen in Windows. If you cant see it in the BIOS nor Windows, it is probably mechanical failure. You could try this too, just plug the power cable to the drive and try powering it on. Feel for the vibration from the motor. If you do not feel, that is confirmed hardware failure.
Ok it's not hardware failure. Detected in another computer. How do I fix it?
Still the same. My colleague told me this happened because windows was doing an update after shutdown. Then I got stuck for 2 hours. So he power down. After that power on already become cant find boot device
TS, all you can do now is to copy out your data from the problem HDD. Once done, get a SSD and fresh install OS. You may want to connect back the old HDD and reformat after OS setup.
Ya that's what I intend to do. A bit troublesome though. Hahaha. Because i don't know what are the stuff I need to back up
