Plug into another SATA port? :s11:

Also, not necessary to use SATA 3 ports with HDD. HDD data transfer rates are slow enough that SATA 2 ports do not bottleneck the HDD during read/write, SATA 2 good enough for HDD.

First, power up and see if the HDD is running. If it is not, high chance of a loose power cable (or u forgot to supply PSU power to the HDD). If there is, check make sure that the SATA cable attached is firmly in place.

Dude use your brains a bit before u troll posts, if cant even see in BIOS u think OS so clever can pick up in disk management?

So u think a guy know how to check in the bios but no brain to attach the sata cable ? :o

Y not? I'm sure u know how a SATA cable looks like. Plug in the wrong way, SATA cable still goes in but halfway. So a loose SATA cable could be the issue that TS is facing. Anyway I'm just giving advice to help TS troubleshoot his problem.

As for u, wad does repeating wad fellow HWZer addicted-addiction mentioned in post #3 help in TS solving/troubleshooting his issue at hand? Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinions, but not in a way that HWC becomes another EDMW forum where everyone starts posting unrelated stuff on a thread. That is simply trolling the thread, and it's up to the mods in HWC to deal with u.

Dude y do u need to compare if my solution is better than yours (dun think i cant sense the sarcasm in that reply)? Like i said i'm just helping TS out in his troubleshooting of his issue. If solved, brilliant. If not solved, someone will come up with a better suggestion to resolve his issue.

Its either u have a grudge against everyone else in this forum that u need to troll every TS with meaningless replies or your English is so powerful that everyone who reads your replies misunderstands you.

And i'm not gonna continue feeding the troll.

Try same Cable on Sata 2 Port can detect?
Try another HDD on that Sata 3 port see bios can detect or not.
Maybe your Sata 3 port faulty.

Sata 2 vs Sata 3
3Gbps vs 6Gbps.
300MB vs 600MB

But HDD usually 100+MB only.
So no difference whether you use SATA 2 or SATA 3.
Unless you are using SSD.
