hi, need some help here.

intend to change the HDD to SSD on my wife's laptop. she is using an Asus K53 something laptop running on Windows 7.

I understand there is a recovery partition on the HDD, so no recovery CDs are provided. I used some partition tools to copy the partition onto an external USB hdd and tried to boot from this partition from usb, but don't work... from the manual it asks me to use some Asus recovery cd maker tool, but i can't find it in windows...

any advice on how to go about doing it?

thanks..

Have you tried cloning software? Able to copy the OS to another storage
Some SSD comes with it like crucial
Otherwise maybe you can try looking for the windows 7 ISO and newly install, remember to copy down the product key
