Heavy Duty Monitor Arm for 49 Inch Ultrawide Monitor

I just purchase the LG 49-inch, ultrawide curve Monitor. I am looking for a good monitor arm for around 12Kg and my table is 8cm thick. Any suggestion?

If you are using 49-inch monitor, please share your thoughts. Thanks.

I got my LG 49 inch monitor a week back and I'm using its monitor stand on my table. If I need more desk space later I will consider

the more likely 10 times cheaper MOUNTING DREAM wall mounting option. Can get such similar wall mounts from SL SQ too

https://www.amazon.com/Mounting-Dre...ing+dream+tv+wall+mount&qid=1598192980&sr=8-3

Youtube set up with wall mount here

or the very expensive ERGOTRON HX desk monitor arm. Too bad the ERGOTRON HX desk monitor arm can only clamp to surfaces up to 6.6cm thick but it allows for grommet installation. Spec as below. You can get the ERGOTRON HX desk monitor arm from below

https://www.takeaseat.sg/ergotron-singapore/page/2/

https://www.ergotron.com/en-us/products/product-details/45-475#?color=white

Youtube shows such a set up using clamping method

Since your desk is 8cm thick you have the following options.

1) use a wall mount
2) drill a hole through your desk and use grommet installation method
3) use the LG stand if your desk is large enough and you don't require extra desk space like mine as below

Depends on what you are looking to do, is this just for ease of desk space

If stacking I have a 34 inch stacked on top of the 49 inch LG (I believe stacking 2x 49 is fine too). but it sits on the table base.

The mounting system is super heavy duty but need to bring in from the states.

Do you have some pictures of your existing setup?
How much is the mounting system?

With the fellows EDMW bros and sisters suggestions and help. I manage to source for a heavy-duty monitor arm for my 49inch monitor. I have look at a couple of monitor arms:

1. Humanscale M8.1 = S$520
2. Ergotron HX Desk mount = S$406 (only allow 6.6 cm desk thickness)
3. Loctek Monitor Mount Heavy D7L = S$279(allow up to 13cm desk thickness)

While I was looking at Loctek D7L, I discover that another brand Fleximounts D7L is the same as Loctek D7L. Just another brand name.

I check Carousel and found a seller for S$140 and bought it. The seller is super nice. I will post up the picture later.

Remember, the monitor arms must be able to support up to 15Kg. At present, Samsung and LG 49inch monitor weights around 12.5 and up. Always look at the weight the arm can support. Don't ever think an arm can support a 9kg, can also support a 12kg monitor. You are taking a risk.

I forgot to mention you need a 2 person operation to set it up.

I manage to take back my desk real estate area.

Once again, I would like to thanks all those who contribute to this thread. I hope this thread remains a guide for those who bought a 49inch ultrawide monitor.

A few questions

1) Where did you download that wallpaper from? Looks great with the Spore night scenery
2) Your table looks big enough to accommodate the original LG stand. What table size you are having?

Thanks

1. Usually, when I get a new monitor I search the net for wallpapers. The new screen size is 5120X1440. I did a search based on this "5120X1440 Singapore".

2. I bought my table from taobao.com using EZbuy.com. My wify join the ezbuy member for $60 yearly. So shipping to Singapore is $2.99 and send to my house for $20, need to wait for 6 weeks. I think the table cost only S$150. The size for the table is 140X60cm. So it is a bit narrow, hence the monitor arm. Need to reclaim my desktop estate area, lolz
