Help: Black Screen at Windows Login Screen

Hi All,

Just back from a 2 week vacation, and when I switched on my computer, faced the following problem:

There is display on my monitor right until the screen where I am supposed to key in the windows password. Monitor goes blank at that screen. Only issue is with the display, as when I key in my password and enter, I can hear the windows login sound.

I have tried the following:
1) Boot into safe mode (no issues with display in safe mode)
2) I have tried uninstalling the graphics driver using Display Driver Uninstaller (v15.1.0.2)
3) When drivers are uninstalled, computer display works in normal mode
4) When I re-install the drivers (AMD 14.12), I am back to the same problem of screen going blank at the log-in screen.
5) I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers with the same result each time.

This is my first time building my own rig, hence not much experience on troubleshooting. Would like to seek advice on the following problem. Thanks.

MSI Z97 Gaming 5
MSI R9 290 Gaming
G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 1600 (4GB*2)
Superflower 600W HX 80+
Samsung Evo 250GB
Windows 7 64bit

You tried an older version of the GPU driver?

I have tried using an older version and also tried the installing the beta drivers. Still have same problem. Need to go to safe mode uninstall before the display will work again.
