Quite new to DIY PC building ~~

been using laptops for quite awhile and wanted to use a desktop as I'm bringing my laptop for overseas trip or work ~~


I do have a buget of 1.2K
I need OS, keyboard and Monitor and Wifi capabilities ~~

Purpose :
- Playing games such as Sim City 2013, MoH : Warfighter, Battlefield 3, Call of Duty etc

- Video watching
-Light usage of After Effect

Buy and build at Tradepac.

Some things to take note when dealing with Tradepac:

• Be firm with your decision when buying from Tradepac. Don't be swayed by their sales assistant to upgrade and buy more expensive components which you don't require.
• Check all the components you plan to purchase are correct before you make payment.
• Stay at the shop and supervise them as they assemble your rig and make sure they return all spare chassis parts. You might want to take note that Tradepac cable management skills may not be up to your satisfactory level.

Got my only recommendation is wait for Haswell, Ivy Bridge based on 7 series chipset which is going to be in its EOL stage within the next year liao, 3 years down the road will have problem finding replacement board for it liao.

BTW Haswell is only 2 month from launch and expected to be 3 month from retail i think think think. No one can confirm at this point but that is the timeline you would reasonably expect to look at.
