My friend upgraded his W7 to W8 recently and now wants it back to W7 due to technical issues.

He is using a SSD which is the partition that W8 is on and I tried putting a Windows 7 CD but at the startup I get an error saying there is no boot device (or it can't read) and jumps to W8 quickly thereafter.

I've seen MANY threads on how to install W7 on SSD using UEFI settings. Why then am I not able to do the same?

BIOS settings on UEFI and AHCI mode activated.

I also tried disabling UEFI to Legacy but doesn't read the W7 disc either :|

Anyone out there? :(

My W7 also. Crazy already.

can shut down any time due to error.

I notice after installing Utorrent on it.
The problem starts.
Some memory error. Blue screen than forced window shut down - restart.

Now even if Utorrent not open also randomly at will, PC will just flash "Blue screen " and restart - got error message :(

So I don't really know if its really due to Utorrent cause or ?
Quite phobia. Anytime can just happen. Especially when you doing some stuffs halfway - blue screen shut down - restart.

Very unpredictable and unstable it seems.

Now I install Ubuntu on my Acer PC.
Running 2 OS on one PC.

On start I have option between Windows and Ubuntu.

BUT Ubuntu use for very long - no shut down so I think should be window problem.

BUT then, Ubuntu not very user software friendy.
Not easy to install softwares - add on.

Unlike windows where just click on Install or run file it just install.
Ubuntu sometimes can add feature to Browser. Insatlling Linux compatible software not so straight forward....

BUT much more stable. Thats the Pros and cons.

Need to find solution to this "blue screen" error thing.
Or using Windows can be quite Phobic :(

Any suggestion how to solve or having same experience care to share how you overcame this sort of anytime error - blue screen situation which can drive use to nuts ;)

Feel quite helpless sometimes.

Help :):s22::vijayadmin:

Thanks

I think you should do a clean installation of Windows 7, else the problems are got to do with your equipment.

I've solved mine. Hope you solve yours too.
