Yeah...

I do have a custom PC at home which last time I used for gaming and now only for editing purposes...
Currently, I have a MB Air which us alr 7 yrs old and to edit using Premiere is absolutely a no no on this device... I short circuit or burn the drive inside and spend $300 to change it.
So thats y i need to replace with something thats very very powerful and able to handle Premiere Pro edits easily...

I really like to have the MBP but i would be glad if they use an NVIDIA card so the premiere pro can actually use it...

MB's build quality is and always will be top of the industry. Sad that Apple continues to enjoy cramming in mediocre last-gen hardware into it tho.

But interestingly enough there have been ppl who tested what you want; Run intensive tasks on a high-end MB pro attached to a eGPU(1080) using the thunderbolt 3 port. Even doing that showed a stark drop in gaming performance compared to other gaming laptops that used the same eGPU. Basically even with an Nvidia card the Mac still performs worse than an equivalent laptop with the same card/specs.

It could be the Mac(for whatever reason) is just not optimised for gaming lol. But ofc for stuff outside of gaming, its fine. MB pro does come with Radeon cards. Albeit BLOODY EXPENSIVE pieces of ****(think its abt 4-5k?). Gotta love the illogical people over at Apple.

Well tbh that's apple fans for u. For me i dun think its really super worth to get macbook unless u need their software for your purpose, otherwise a windows pc still does the job decently.

And yes its always the software that is ex.

So it sounds like you still need a dGPU laptop on the go for your work. In which case I'll bring up my old point again which is that you're barking up the wrong tree if you'd prefer a Mac Pro lol.

For two simple reasons:
1) 'Affordable' 2-3k mb pros DONT come with Nvidia Graphics so other than a more 'powerful' cpu, what you described with your mac air wont be any different to using on a brand new MB pro.
2) The dGPU ones come with Radeon Graphics at 3.7k at which point you might as well get a bloody Razer Blade Pro that houses a GTX 1080 or a ROG Zephyrus for the same pricepoint

Now if you need a powerful dGPU that can last for a long time, there's three routes to go:

1) Budget-route: Get a cheap BUT bulky Nvidia 970M laptop off carousell/hachi at about 1kish-1.3k/ There's even cheaper dgpu laptops out there if you aren't fussy.

2) Budget-friendly: Slightly bulky 1050 ti/1060 laptops for around 1.6-1.8k

3) Expensive: Very slim, powerful 1060 laptops which go for a minimum 2.3k-3k. The cheapest ofc being Aftershock. Unless you buy used, of course. Build quality wise, Razer, ROG and Aftershock so far have the safest bet. But i'd avoid the Aftershock's Prime 15 for now till they fix the horrible fan noise with their upcoming bios update.
