First of all, sry if hav been asked b4. Did a search on hwz bt didnt find relevant ans to my qns.

I jus gotten my ssd, using hdd previously.

Understand that clean install of os is recommended instead of cloning.

btw, Mine is w7 oem.

So what i m doing nw is installing w7 in my ssd.
Bt after tt i dunnoe hw to proceed le.

Do i uninstall all my programmes in hdd then reinstall in ssd, or straight install in ssd n delete the programmes files in hdd? Doesnt seem like the latter right?

ALSo, hw do i remove the previous os installed in hdd? Reformat tt partition?

thanks!!

Do a clean install, it take only half an hour and you also need not worry about other issues. After that do optimization for ssd, u can google info about it. When it is done, u can install other software when you are free.

Cloning over existing hdd is ok but only if done correctly. The amount of time spent looking for information on how to clone is at least 30mins, which is the time u need to clean install...lol. Since u have the chance for a new install why not. Dont waste time learning how to clone. Install your system and software in the SSD, using your hdd as your storage.

After clean install is done, and SSD running fine. Buy a 2.5" USB3.0 enclosure for your old hard disk and use it as removable drive.

OS installation is fast, < 15 mins.
My bad, thought HDD is 2.5".

If install win 7, disconnect all drive except OS drive. Install back storage HDD after OS/driver install complete.
