Recently got myself a new gaming rig, but I'm getting so much problems with crashing drivers.

A little on my rig spec:
I7 4790K on Maximus VII Impact
Asus GTX780 DCII OC
DDR3 2400mhz 16GB
Windows 8.1 pro
Nvidia GeForce Drivers 344.11 WHQL

I've installed a few games like BF4 and Metro Redux, but they would just crash after a few seconds of game play and there will be a prompt saying something along the lines of 'the display driver stopped and successfully recovered'.

Honestly, I'm both frustrated and out of ideas. I have even tried every version of drivers (install, DDU it and reinstall new ones) Nvidia has to offer on their website.

Does this sound familiar or anyone with some advice? Thank you very much in advance.

Thanks for the replies. I've read so much over the days, many pointing to too high of an o/c, a bad card or cycle between the different drivers.

I've tried the tips like under-clocking my card, try different drivers fresh install of win 8.1 and even change to win 7... My card has even been tested working on my friend's machine, but just didn't work on mine.

That eraser trick gave me some hope. Really hope it is as simple as that. I'll try it out tonight!

You guys hit it right on the head! It was a contact related problem, to be exact, the PCI-E riser in my casing. I've ran Metro for about 10 mins so far with the card plugged in direct to the motherboard and it went on and on (fingers crossed).

Might have to check if I can exchange the riser card or casing then.

Thank you guys, really appreciated it! :)
