Hey, thanks for the advice too. Can my MOBO support the GTX 1060 or RX 580?

What PSU u using?

If more than 3 years old, might be good to consider a new 600w psu. They often wear and die out the first in a rig

Seasonic M12ii 620 is $125

Imo most newish pcs will be able to edit 4k footage.

Just how smooth the editing experience is and how long it takes to render depends on your pc.

Software plays a very important role as well. Adobe premiere despite being the most popular is the slowest especially in terms of render time. Form my testing I find it usually takes almost twice as long to render in premiere compared to davinci resolve. Also davinci resolve runs on Linux which is a big win for me.

Colour grading stuff in davinci resolve is also superior to premiere imo.

In the end it still comes down to personal preference. Many people are comfortable with premiere to not want to switch to a different video editor despite it being superior. Even if the rendering times are faster, you may lose time trying to make the unfamiliar software do what u want.
