Mine is blu-ray drive and it is connected to my mobo via slimline SATA. And I got gigabtye lan onboard ah.

Wah.. thats good.. yeah my friend's one is from 2012..
When I open up that time damn pissed off.. DVDRW is custom made, doorless.. the door is from the casing.. The sata connector is custom made too, fused with the power connector and his onboard lan is those pathetic 1mm-thin wire kind. USB Lan one also better nia.
And yeah, even HDD cage is custom made with sata and power connectors. Power supply is 330W external..
The GFX was a GTX555 reference. Sucking air from the casing wall.. No wonder burnt out..

Update:

I just connected my LED screen to my onboard integrated intel display and played a game that kept crashing when I connected to my GPU.

Now the game stopped crashing.
So now I can narrow down to the GPU and PSU as the fault right?

Yeah. Either GPU, PCIE slot on the mobo.

yea, but since ts say got power spike when game crash most likely psu. theres a youtube video of a guy jerryrigging a 1000w psu to his x51. go watch it

btw anyone herd of x51 with liquid cooling and gtx760? my friend said he bought that but im finding no info on it

it cant be the aurora either cos he say he only got space for one hdd and the casing dam small

Yeah, so the easiest way to fix the prob for me is to change to new casing, mobo, psu and reuse all the remaining components.
Just take it as I am upgrading my com lo. Lol.

I am going to get either ATX or mATX casing. So might as well get a new ATX or mATX mobo. I don't know whether my old mITX mobo PCIE slot is faulty anot.

i watch review online, the x51 suppose to come with nvidia gtx545, if u buy the more expensive model u will get gtx555.

the reviewer claim that with the gtx555 the power draw about 210w
660 is a more powerful card. nt sure why they even offered it

Having more gaming horsepower doesn't mean they draw more power (a very common misconception).

Fermi Refresh GTX 555 is still on 40nm silicon while energy-efficient Kepler GTX 660 is already on 28nm, giving the latter a huge boost in energy-efficient and makes it run on less power than the weaker GTX 555.

I just don't understand why the MSI afterburner always register an off-the-chart power % after the crash.

The GPU Usage chart also maxed out.

Considering that I wasn't playing any graphic intensive game, this shouldn't be happening right? (Eurotruck Sim 2)

The max temp it ever clocked after a crash is 85 deg C. This is with the casing panel opened, extra fan blowing at GPU and in an air con room with room temp at 23 deg C.

The thing is this com since day 1, play any game also will crash within 1 minute.
Dell change the GPU before liao but it still happens. So they blame it on OS and won't send tech down anymore cos their policy is OS issue they won't send tech.

Ytd I play Hawken on the recommended High setting. It crashed within 5 secs.
Set to medium, it minimised to desktop within 1 minute and back to game. But frame rate dropped to < 20.
When I set to low, I could play for 30-45mins.

One thing you can do is to reapply thermal paste on the GPU and sees if it improves the situation.

The HDD I haven check is using what connection. I am assuming it is standard SATA.

You can but can be troublesome (especially with finding ODD bezel adapter):

Try downclocking your GTX 660 then (sounds stupid but a good free testing method)

I might used MSI Afterburner to downclock my GPU to test.

Which parameter should I reduce?
There's Power Limit, Core Clock and Mem Clock.

Okay this is annoying. I played BF4 on high setting and Titanfall on high setting.
No crash. The crash seems to be specifically for Steam games.
